A great weekend of racing with a strong field of sportscars/sports sedans. A wet & wild Friday gave us limited time to set up the new RX-7 sports sedan, but both Sat/Sun were fine and first time out in the new car Cade posted a best time of 59.5 seconds on the Barbagallo long circuit. It was his first time in a sedan having previously only driven in & winning the state formula ford championship in 2007. Our other two cars had a great run also with Benham completing his first ever race meet & George Bradbury making a return to the track after last season focusing on tarmac rally's.

The other K-TEC motorsport/Summers Legal team car 997GT3RS was in the top ten at the end of day one until a minor off cut the inner sidewall of the rear tyre forcing them out for most of day 2 and any chance of a good result this time. 16.11.2006 - Classic Adelaide Update
After a quiet Day 0, and a good nights sleep for the K-Tec team, Day 1 looked just as good. Weather fine, and all cars running well. The cars qualified well, with Glyn Crimp running the Prolog 10th fastest - congratulations! The pictures show Brendan and Shane - unaware, they will be in for a long night. The last special stage of Day 1, the Cork Screw, did not end well for one of our customers - but fortunately the problem was only mechanical. Hoping that our two ace mechanics will have Michael on the road for Day 2 is was a time of hectic activity - but unfortunately the problem proved to big to fix 'on the road'. Michael had to join Glyn (whose 924 GTS decided it had enough) to be just a spectator. Otherwise a good Day 2, George and Jeff in Classic had no problems and like Hans and Ash in Late Classic were able to improve their positions.

As you can see by the photos this factory aluminium torque tube was obtained by our race department for fitment to a 924 turbo carrera GT. As any Porsche enthusiest would know these aluminium torque tubes were only fitted to the 924GTS, 924GTR and 944GTP lemans race cars of the early eighties. They are of stronger construction as compared to the standard torque tubes having four bearing supports instead of the usual three bearings. The weight savings are huge with just over sixteen kilograms now being shed from the cars total weight. You may never see one of these in the flesh but we thought we would show you the extent that the factory went to strip weight from their race cars.

14.02.2006 - Potent supercharged 911 3.6 in for first service
This car is indeed a wolf in sheeps clothing. What started out as a simple oil leak rectification repair progressed into a 360hp supercharged fire breathing monster. Shane who has over 10 years Porsche expertice has handled this baby from start to finish and has done a fantastic job in turning this into a beautiful road going race car. The car is presently in the workshop for its first service since completion and the first thousand kilometers did not take long for the owner to clock up. with the only concern being an increase in fuel consumption. But this was to be expected as it now leaves the traffic as little objects in the rear vision mirrors. You could almost call it a time warp. With the supercharger set up there is no lag in performance which is usually associated with turbo type powered cars which equates to snap acceleration as soon as the throttle is opened. Well done shane with this one.
